Adon Renewables recently completed a solar-powered cooling upgrade at Koa Vista I, a seven-story residential apartment building. The project paired a new rooftop photovoltaic (PV) system with Adon’s SunChillers™ solar air conditioning system, enabling the building to generate clean energy on-site and use it directly to support cooling during daylight hours.
By aligning cooling demand with solar production, the system delivers exceptional efficiency—providing reliable comfort while significantly reducing electricity consumption compared to conventional air-conditioning systems. During sun hours, the solution can lower cooling-related energy costs by up to 90%, helping the building improve both operating efficiency and long-term cost stability.
The SunChillers™ system operates on direct current (DC) technology, which reduces mechanical stress on the compressor and helps extend equipment lifespan. Its simplified system design supports easier installation, while direct DC coupling allows the air-conditioning system to integrate efficiently with rooftop solar. In addition, the multi-zone configuration enables a single outdoor unit to serve up to four indoor units, improving design flexibility while reducing overall equipment requirements.
This project demonstrates Adon Renewables’ ability to deliver turnkey, integrated energy solutions: from system design and engineering to installation and commissioning—helping existing buildings transition to cleaner, more efficient energy infrastructure.
