Catholic Charities Hawaiʻi’s Meheula Vista is a 4-phase, 300-unit master planned, senior affordable rental housing development located on approximately 7.5 acres of land in Mililani Mauka on Oahu. The facilities were designed, financed, and built by Adon including 600 kW of rooftop and carport PV arrays, 2.5MWh of advanced LFP Batteries, 666 kW of solar hot water systems (over 4,300 gallons), and 135kW of solar heat pumps (2.7MBTU of cooling). Adon Energy Management System maximizes utilization of renewable energy resources and providing grid services.
Koa Vista I (Waipahu, Oahu)
Installation of a rooftop PV system integrated with Sunchillers.
System Type
- Adon Sunchillers (Hybrid AC system)
- Rooftop PV
Koa Vista I is a seven-story residential apartment building where Adon Renewables completed a solar-powered cooling upgrade, including a rooftop photovoltaic (PV) system paired with Adon’s SunChillers™ solar air-conditioning technology. The integrated system aligns cooling demand with on-site solar generation to significantly reduce electricity consumption, lowering cooling-related energy costs by up to 90% during daylight hours. The SunChillers™ system is designed to work directly with rooftop solar, minimizing energy losses, reducing mechanical stress, and extending equipment lifespan.
Kahului Lani I & II (Kahului, Maui)
On-site, battery, EMS and Sunchillers for a newly developed community
System Type
- Adon Sunchillers (Hybrid AC system)
- Adon PowerBox Battery Energy Storage System
- Adon Energy Management Systems (EMS)
- Rooftop PV
- Carport
Kahului Lani is a 165-unit senior affordable rental complex located on the island of Maui. The facilities consist of 104.6kW split between two rooftop photovoltaic arrays powering solar heat pump systems (2.1MTU of cooling) and two separate solar carports with a 762.5kWh LFP Battery commissioned in 2021 managed by Adon Energy Management Systems.
Kauai Beach Resort (Lihue, Kauai)
Microgrid system with solar, battery backup & EMS for the wastewater treatment plant for resort.
System Type
- Adon PowerBox Battery Energy Storage System
- Adon Energy Management System (EMS)
- Carport
The microgrid consists of 450 KWh LFP battery and Adon’s Proprietary Energy Management System (EMS). The system kept the sewage pumping operations running despite the area being flooded severely and Kauai Island Utility Cooperative experiencing an extended blackout on March 28, 2020.
Outlets of Maui (Lahaina, Maui)
Replaced traditional grid power with on-site solar for an outlet mall.
System Type
- Rooftop PV with micro-inverters.
- Electrical infrastructure upgrade
The 912kW rooftop PV system provided renewable energy to 9 commercial retail buildings at the Outlets. The systems were tied into an upgraded infrastructure that included new switchgears with master metering, revenue grade submetering, and a utility integrated Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. Providing the site with reliable renewable energy, further helping reduce dependance on fossil fuels help reach the state’s goal of operating on 100% renewable energy by 2045.
